About

Hello. I’m glad you’re here.

Welcome to my writing space.

I wish I could welcome you to a space with lovely photographs, eye-popping fonts, endorsements and buttons and badges galore! I wish I could sit here and welcome you to the Pottery Barn of the blog-o-sphere, but perhaps just like me, my little corner of the writing world is simple, unrefined, and a little rusty around the edges. While I cannot offer you an overpriced throw pillow or cashmere blanket, I can put a cup of coffee in your hand and invite you to sit down with me to talk about the realities of being a mom, a wife, a teacher, a friend, a daughter, and a person of faith. We can cozy up next to a fireplace and forget about the harsh New England winters where I live, and find comfort in the power of story.

Or, if you’d rather, we can plunk ourselves in a beach chair and put a little Sam Adams in some red cups and toast our troubles away. I’m up for that too.

However you got here, I’m so glad you did. Drop by a comment or two, will you?

With blogging love,

LKP

I just ran across this from a post of your newest entry shared on Facebook. I am a teacher in Lawrence and struggle so often with the challenges teaching there brings. Your entry about kids being good made me smile and realize all the times my students make me smile as well.
